07 Aug Running Roots
Claire Flemming, a Harbor Springs cross country and track runner, shares a story of the trails behind her house.
Running is a chance to connect with nature on the Northern Michigan trail systems.
Some like to linger a moment to test a wild strawberry patch. Others prefer to befriend the native wildlife population.
I like to get up close and personal with the local root systems-not always on purpose. But topsoil smudges brush off fairly easily! Also, bruises and bumps are perfect for wipe-out stories by the campfire.
