07 Jan Making Snow
Nolen Pulliam, a Snow Farmer on the Nub’s Nob crew, shares his behind-the-scenes story.
Growing up in Colorado, I always took snow-covered mountains for granted. That all ended when I moved to Harbor Springs and started working for Nub’s Nob.
For the last two years, beginning in late October, I have worked the overnight shift making snow. Talk about an adventure-imagine working in an endless blizzard for weeks straight!
Snow making is a constant test of your mental and physical endurance, but being able to see the landscape change from fall to winter overnight is truly amazing.
