Our Staff

Josh Baker
Our Fearless Leader!
Josh and his wife Molly own and operate The Outfitter.  Josh was a professional outdoor educator for seventeen years, before returning to northern Michigan to take over the store.  He enjoys paddling, cycling, telemark and classic x-c skiing, and mountaineering. Josh is our man to see for gear and the "proper" clothing!  .  If there is an adventure you are seeking, he will guide you on skis or in a kayak.  He is fearless in the field..... unless there is a lilly pad root involved!  Stop in soon and ask Josh to tell you that story!

Jeanne Benjamin
Our Buyer
The face at the Outfitter that most often hears, "wow are you still here"?  Jeanne began working in the store at the age of eighteen.  She attended MSU, then mixed with traveling, fun and working she realized she wanted to live in Harbor Springs in the heart of northern Michigan.  As The Outfitter grew up so did she.  Jeanne is our buyer.  What a fantastic job she does, just watch how the store changes from season to season.  Married to a great guy (who is obsessed with Ironman and Triathlons) keeps Jeanne in shape when she isn't chasing thier four year old son.  Jeanne loves to run, snowshoe, cross country ski and hike with her family. There is always a big smile on her face when she helps you.

  Will Baker
Events Coordinator
Will is back in the shop after a 2 year hiatus and is very excited to be in downtown Harbor Springs again. He will be working the kayak and ski room with Marc and George year-round. Another project for Will is setting up the marathon, trail run series, and other events with the help of the entire staff. One of Will's main interests is helping others get outside and enjoy everything Harbor Springs has to offer. Outside of the store you will find him on a bike, running in the woods with Meg and their 3 dogs, or eating a Gurney's at Zoll St. Beach. He is more than happy to help with any kayak or running questions you have!
