07 Dec Exploring Winter
Linnae Dawson, lead ranger at Petoksey State Park, shares her love of a winter landscape.
When people think of Petoskey State Park, they usually think of mid-summer and the bustling one-mile stretch of sandy beach on Little Traverse Bay.
But have you seen it in the wintertime?
I love how the park transforms into a winter wonderland ready to explore–snow covered trails and ice on the beach. You only see a few people out braving the elements and enjoying winter activities like snowshoeing or cross country skiing. It’s the perfect place to come clear your head and enjoy the serenity and winter beauty.
